Strange insect like t-shirt
Insects are one of the most amazing creatures in the world, and they come in all shapes, sizes and colors. Some look unusual or even strange. Although not everyone appreciates their bizzare beauty, insects can provide us with a lot of insight into the workings of our planet's ecosystems.
Take for instance some of the more unusual looking species found around the globe; The Giant Weta from New Zealand which is considered to be one of the heaviest insects on Earth weighing up to 70g; The Atlas Moth from Southeast Asia whose wings span over 30cm making it one of largest moths in existence; And then there’s an endemic Indonesian species called Wallace’s giant bee whose average size makes it 4 times bigger than your average honeybee.
But that doesn't even scratch the surface when it comes to strange insect behavior either - take for example Washington Dc's own cicada who spend 17 years underground hibernating before emerging en masse every summer generating quite a spectacle as they swarm through neighborhoods searching for mates.
These stories demonstrate how many strange and remarkable wonders come out from these tiny creatures that often get overlooked by humans. Although there are countless numbers out there and new ones emerging each day, we should take time to appreciate these bizarre beauties that make up our amazing planet.
